Yong Sheng Specializes in Vehicle Mirrors

Established in 2000, Yong Sheng Co., Ltd. Is an ISO 9001:2000-approved manufacturer specializing in mirror products for various kinds of transportation vehicles. As a result of its intensive, continuous investment in mold and die development, Yong Sheng now makes about 300 mirror models-including side- and rearview-mirrors-for automobiles, powered two-wheelers (PTWs), all terrain vehicles (ATVs), snowmobiles, electric scooters for the handicapped, and other vehicles.

Yong Sheng is a major original equipment (OE) mirror supplier to most ATV, PTW, and electric scooter makers in Taiwan, as well as to many automakers in the Middle East. In addition, the company is a leading manufacturer of aftermarket (AM) mirrors that are sold under many American and European brands. The company's AM auto mirrors are widely welcomed by customers in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East.

Yong Sheng currently runs two plants, including one in Taiwan, where approximately 80 workers produce mainly OE parts; and another in Chungshan, Guangdong Province, mainland China, where about 150 workers make AM products. The company is also setting up a new facility in Vietnam, which is scheduled to begin production by the end of the year.

All of Yong Sheng's products are EEC, ECE, SAE, ETL, or UL certified. Total annual capacity of the two plants outstrips one million units.

Yong Sheng president King Chih-hsiung claims that his company uses three-dimensional (3D) CAD/CAM software to design all mirror products with the highest precision. In addition, the company is applying to Germany's TUV for certification of its in-house R&D laboratory.

Unlike its competitors, Yong Sheng's strong development team constantly works on designing better and newer products. According to King, Yong Sheng currently owns about 20 patents for new mirror functions and designs.

King is very confident about Yong Sheng's future, and the president claims that his company will continue to develop about 20 to 30 new items per year.

In recent years, Yong Sheng has also branched out to successfully tap the high-end make-up/shaving mirror market. (QL)
