Established in 1982, Jang Wuel Steel Machinery Co. is a fast-growing manufacturer of machine tools in Taiwan. In the beginning, the company had only six employees and a plant with an area of merely 600 square meters, but since that time it has continuously invested in R&D and facility expansion.

In 1986 Jang Wuel invested some US$845,000 on R&D and set up a computerized design center to produce rollers and related products. Three years later, the company pumped in approximately US$2 million to enable further expansion, purchasing another plant with an area of 3,000 square meters.

To diversify operations, the firm established another company in 1990, Jang Rong Steel Machinery Co., and has rapidly expanded operations in mainland China. In 1992 the firm inaugurated its first plant in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province to turn out stainless-steel tubes. Two years later it set up Huadu Winner Stainless Steel Tube Co. in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, with an area of 45,000 square meters; the total investment capital for this project amounted to US$15 million. In 1996 the company inaugurated its third plant in the mainland, located at Changzhou, Fujian Province, with a paid-in capital of US$6 million.

In 1998 Jang Wuel purchased a landsite of 6,500 square meters in Taiwan for further expansion of its island-based operations. In the next year Huadu Winner, the company's affiliate in Guangdong, also purchased a sizable plot of 60,000 square meters to build three new factories there.

Jang Wuel's operations in the mainland focus on the production of stainless-steel tubes and pipes, while its operations in Taiwan are focused on the manufacture of finished machines. Among the company's major lines are stainless-steel tube-making machines, carbon-steel tube-making machines, round-tube polishers, square- & rectangular-tube polishers, hydrostatic testing machines for pipes, and pipe-facing cutting machines.

Currently, 70% of the company's machines are exported to mainland China, Malaysia, Vietnam, and North Africa, with the remainder sold domestically.
