Machine tool expo TIMTOS x TMTS 2022 gearing up to open on Monday

TIMTOS x TMTS 2022 machine tool mega show is slated to kick off next Monday to Feb. 26, at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Hall 1 and 2. A number of Taiwan's more well-known suppliers -- Fair Friend, Tong Tai, Hiwin, Kao Fong, Victor Taichung Machinery -- are exhibiting along with a total of 950 exhibitors, using around 5,100 booths.

TAITRA, one of the main organizers of the mega show, stated on Thursday of major changes introduced at the show to make it easier for international buyers to tap into Taiwan's machine tool supply chain, including six types of services. In addition, over a thousand international buyers from 62 countries have registered for the show's official online global machinery procurement sessions, amounting to around 700 procurement sessions throughout the show.

TAITRA stated that the return of the in-person TIMTOS show was a three-year wait in the making, while the online version will kick off on the same day as the in-person event and last for an entire month.

The two-in-one show will showcase exhibitors from 16 countries and regions, including the national pavilions featuring the world's top export countries of machine tools, including Switzerland, Germany, and the U.S.

The world's third-biggest machine tool group Fair Friend is using 60 booths, making it the largest exhibiting supplier at the show and showcasing eight domestic and overseas brands. Equipment that will be on display includes nine high-end machinery and two automated production lines, including the world's debut of multitasking turning centers for high precision parts processing and 3D printed production lines.

Under the theme of "smart manufacturing," Tong Tai is exhibiting its software and hardware integration through the CT-350, a five-axis automated production line.

Hiwin Group's key technologies and integrated services of machinery and electronics have enabled them to roll out the world's first smart ballscrew that has integrated Industry 4.0 features. Hiwin is also slated to announce its initiative with 30 machinery clients to create a national team of smart machinery suppliers.
