Mobiletron Joins Chinese Carmakers' Supply Chains

2012/05/07 | By Steve Chuang

Taipei, May 7, 2012 (CENS)--Following the footsteps of its Taiwanese peers having built OEM (original equipment manufacturing) partnerships with local carmakers in China, Mobiletron Electronics Co., Ltd., a large-sized supplier of auto electronics, has also tapped two Chinese carmakers' supply chains by supplying wireless tire-pressuring monitoring systems staring in the second half of this year, according to the company's chairman Tim Tsai.

Tsai indicated that his company's Ningbo plant in Zhejiang Province, eastern China, saw its sales of auto electronics in the country sharply surge 40% year-on-year in 2011, but most of which were destined in the AM (aftermarket) segment. Therefore, he said new contract orders received from the said two Chinese carmakers, which are scheduled to be filled starting in the second half of this year, are of special significance to Mobiletron, as it has looked for more OEM business chances in China.

Tsai emphasized that the two new customers will definitely increase their orders with his company, giving Mobiletron promising OEM business outlooks in the future,

Tsai furthered that Mobiletron has also been in talks with other carmakers and their authorized workshops in Beijing and Zhejiang for contract orders for its wireless tire-pressure monitoring systems. Hopefully, this along with secured orders from the abovementioned two Chinese carmakers will help to significantly enhance contribution of the Taiwanese supplier's OE (original equipment) products to annual revenue this year.

In the meantime, after years of hard work on promoting auto repair tools under its own-brand ACDelco overseas, Mobiletron has enjoyed the payoff now, as the brand's products have been successfully distributed to North America, Australia, and India. The company plans to further expand its distribution channels in the U.K., France, German and South American countries in the next two years to secure sustainable development of its branding business.
