Taipei, April 2, 2012 (CENS)--Kent Industrial Co., Ltd., Taiwan's major manufacturer of CNC (computerized numerically controlled) surface grinders and machining centers, will introduce 16-meter double-column grinding machines by the end of this year to meet increased demand for larger machines.

Kent has the world's largest production capacity for surface grinding machines. T.J. Chen, senior manager of Kent, said surface grinders are widely applied to various kinds of metal machining jobs and heavily used in mold making.

With consolidated sales of NT$2 billion from operations in both Taiwan and China, Kent aims for consolidated sales growth of 10% this year.

Founded in 1966, Kent has technical cooperation with Mitsui of Japan to develop manual grinders, the first of its kind developed domestically. Over the past several years, the company has shifted to focus on high-margin automated grinders, which the maker can ship over 500 units per month.

Chen said Kent's competitive edge is supplying sophisticated machines at reasonable prices. The company has installed several high-tier production equipments, including five-face machining centers, to complete high-precision machining, and will focus on researching and developing large-sized grinders used in mold making.

With more than 10 sales agents worldwide, Kent has sold products to the U.S., Europe and Southeast Asia, with over 70% of output sold to non-Chinese communities worldwide.
