Taipei, Feb. 10, 2012 (CENS)--Tailift Co., Ltd., formerly Taipin Industrial, aims to go pubic in Taiwan by 2015.

Initially a maker of radial drilling machines and then forklifts and CNC turret punch presses, Tailift owns five plants in Taichung and Nantou counties and another two in China.

Taiwan's largest manufacturer of forklifts, Tailift saw consolidated sales exceed NT$10 billion last year for the first time since its founding in 1973.

To expand product range, Tailift will produce CNC (computerized numerically controlled) milling machines (horizontal and vertical types), which will be debuted sometime in February this year, which will help its machine-tool unit to challenge NT$2 billion in annual sales.

Tailift president Steve Lin says the cross-Taiwan Strait economic cooperation framework agreement (ECFA) has been very beneficial for the domestic machine tool industry.

The maker will invest NT$1 billion to build a plant in the Nangang Industrial Park in Nantou County, central Taiwan, which is expected to begin mass production in the second half of this year to focus on development and production of machine-tool spindles, forklifts and hydraulic motors.

An industry insider says Tailift has set up 100-some direct-sales outlets in China after being in that market for 11 years, having become the No.1 foreign-invest forklift brand in China by beating world-class rivals as Amada, Finn Power and TRUMP.

With a workforce of 1,500 in China, Tailift scored NT$10.2 billion in consolidated sales in 2011, up a walloping 70% year-on-year, and predicts a 10% to 15% growth in annual sales in 2012.
