The Paragon Semiconductor Lighting Technology Co. is a trusted supplier of light emitting diode (LED) packages that feature compact size, high efficacy, high color uniformity, and efficient thermal conductivity.

The company excels at chip-on-board (COB) multichip AC LED packages. A unique thermal conductivity technology minimizes the packages' thermal resistance to only 1-20 C per watt, allowing Paragon to cram as many lumens as possible into a small package. For instance, the company recently released a 150W-rated package with a diameter of five centimeters that produces 15,000 lumens.

A special primary optics design enables the packages to spread soft illumination over an angle of 170 degrees, eliminating the need for a secondary optics design. Also, the unique design allows 95% of the illumination from the LED devices through the primary lens.

An outstanding phosphor formula and well-controlled coating process give the company's packages a color temperature and CIE coordination that measure up to ANSI and Energy Star standards.

Paragon builds its integrated-circuit chips on a substrate with the LED chip bundled to control light dimming, eliminating the need of a boxy control device that usually requires more space. Pulse width modulation (PWM) technology is designed into the chip to identify the incoming electrical power frequency, so that the dimming intensity can be varied accordingly. The products have an assured life span of 30,000 hours.
