Taiwan's Fitness Gear Makers Form "S-Team" to Raise Mfg. Tech

Taipei, Jan. 4, 2012 (CENS)--In the wake of the "A-Team" formed by bicycle makers, "M-Team" by machine makers, and "T-Team" by hand tool makers, Taiwan's 14 fitness equipment and parts makers have recently formed the "S-Team," aiming to upgrade manufacturing technologies and make Taiwan the regional fitness equipment R&D center in the near future.

The 14 "S-Team" members consist of Johnson Health Tech Co., Dyaco International Inc., Health Stream Taiwan Inc., Tonic Fitness Technology Inc., First Degree Fitness Ltd., Direction Technology co., Ltd., Ya Cheng Electrical Engineering Co., Ltd., Chi Hua Fitness Co9., Ltd. Yihsuan Enterprise Co., Ltd., etc.

K.C. Lo, chairman of Johnson, has been named the first-term president of the "S-Team," with two vice presidents being Y. C. Lin, chairman of Dyaco, and H. J. Chen, chairman of Direction.

The "S-Team" will first focus on enhancing the R&D and manufacturing technology of the fitness equipment industry as well as standardizing parts and modules, then help manufacturers streamline operations and management, and later help them acquire global certifications.
