Taipei, Nov. 7, 2011 (CENS)--The Automotive Research & Testing Center (ARTC) of Taiwan, the vehicular testing, inspecting and R&D institute in Taiwan, recently signed a cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) with TUV SUD of Germany, regarding electric-vehicle certification techniques and cross-licensing to directly provide certification services to applicants in Taiwan.

The MOU was signed by ARTC president Joe Huang and SUV SUD vice president Alexander Kraus under witness by many key industrial figures.

Huang pointed out that ARTC has working closely with TUV SUD, and the MOU would further leverage bilateral advantages to enhance ARTC's certification capability of electrical safety, reliability for assembled EVs, batteries and charging facilities, as well as help the ARTC win the E-mark to solidify the center's capability in Taiwan to help local EV operators.

Established 140 years ago as a steam boiler inspection association, TÜV SUD Group is a globally active, future-oriented company. It continues to enjoy success in its conventional services such as periodic vehicle roadworthiness testing ("TUV sticker"), testing and inspection of industrial plants, product testing or expert opinions.

In the near future, companies in Taiwan can get E-mark certificates for wheels, auto parts, EV products etc. directly from the ARTC.
