Multichip LED packages

Paragon Semiconductor Lighting Technology Co., Ltd., held by Paragon Technologies Co., Ltd. that engages in low-temperature vacuum sputtering of components for PCs, aircrafts, automobiles, medical equipment, optical equipment, and building materials, supplies LED devices, including chip-on-board (COB) packages, multichip packages (MCPs), AC packages, dimmable AC packages, dimmable MCPs, and constant voltage driven packages.

The MCPs have many advantages, including soft light at beam angle of 170 degrees, 95% light output efficiency, and low thermal resistance of 1-2C per watt, which are patented for delivering warm and cold white light at the 2,700K-6,500K range.

As many as 110 chips are installed in a typical 20-30W MCP. Warm white packages are rated 90-plus in color rendering index (CRI), and cold white packages as high as 80 CRI, with the latter often unable to achieve a sound balance between light efficacy and CRI.

The COB packages are of LED chips on gold-plated aluminum board to assure better thermal conductivity. An effective phosphor formula enables color temperatures to meet the stringent ANSI (American National Standard Institute) standards.

The line of AC and DC packages also meet RoHS standards, while the maker has 72 patents in Taiwan and the U.S. for package formula, process and structure.

Paragon Semiconductor has clean rooms and static-test laboratory for production and testing. (KL)
