2011/04/13 | By Steve Chuang

Taipei, April 13, 2011 (CENS)--A couple of Taiwanese auto parts manufacturers scored handsome sales during the first quarter of this year and are expected to maintain such growth in the coming months.

Among them, Tong Yang Industry Co Ltd., a leading supplier of car body parts, posted sales revenue of NT$1.209 billion in March, up 33.27% from last March, and pushed up its aggregate revenue for the first three months of this year by 40.09% year-on-year to a record high of NT$3.167 billion.

Kian Shen Corp., affiliated with Yulon Group to produce chassis parts, scored a 40.58% monthly growth in sales of NT$140 million in March, with aggregate revenue for the past three months totaling NT$351 million for a 46.28% growth from a year earlier.

Addition of new capacity and customers in China is among main reasons behind the company's brisk sales during the first quarter. The company turns out 1,000-plus units of auto frames in Taiwan and 400-500 units in China per month. The maximum monthly output in China, the company noted, will exceed 1,000 units to inject stronger growth momentum into its sales in the second half of this year.

Benefiting from a booming auto market and strong sales of Yulon Group's Luxgen SUVs (sport utility vehicles), Taiwan Calsonic Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of vehicle air conditioning systems and electrical parts, raked in NT$103 million in March revenue and NT$302 million in aggregate revenue for the first quarter of this year, up 22.11% and 41.16%, respectively, year-on-year.

With OEM (original equipment manufacturing) business growing significantly, Ta Yih Industrial Co., Ltd., a top-3 auto lamp maker in Taiwan, posted annual growth of 9.4% in sales revenue of NT$366 million for March and 8.84% in three-month revenue of NT$1.097 billion for the first quarter.
